There are now many ang mos working in mid-level positions and as engineers in Singapore, income probably $4-6k pm and wife not working.

Sorry for the confusion, I cannot say more here. The allowance includes other living expenses like utilities, etc, so it will be a bit more than just rental. Expats can choose to stay where they want to and keep the difference.Originally Posted by hopeful
