1954, 13th May marks the day of National Service Riot when Sgp protested against conscription into British army something which eventually led to the Independence of Sg...we depend on the idealism of youth sometimes to change history and make a difference...the passion that LKY had when he was young....hope to find our LKY of today to lead us into the future soon...someone to give us hope after LHL and LKY....who do you think has the calibre to be our next PM? Hope we are given more choices soon even from outside the ruling party....

if our master same skin color, no riot.
if our master different skin color, then have riot

In 1954 the British colonial government in Singapore passed the National Service Ordinance, requiring all males aged between 18 and 20 to register by May 1954 for part-time National Service. Those who failed to register would be either jailed or fined. Thousands of secondary students from Chinese schools - many of whom were 20 years old or above as their education had been disrupted by World War II - were influenced by communist ideals and unwilling to defend the colonial government. On the first day of registration, very few students from Chung Cheng High School and The Chinese High School turned up.

If the colonial government can surrender their troop to the Japanese, would you like to serve them.

of course, surrender against superior force means no need for further fighting, everybody happy, gets to live another day.

do you know what is the worst kind of fights?
the worst kind of fights is where the 2 fighters are evenly matched.
they trade blow-for-blow, until both are battered, bloodied and still no end in sight. they continue hammering each other

if you match flyweight against superheavy weight. the fight ends very fast. flyweight is KO with 1 punch, a few minutes later recovered and shake hands with the champion.

i definitely do not want a prolong war. if there is a war, please make it decisive and everybody gets on with their life.

Responding to Pearl Harbor - When a general raised objections to the use of the bombs, Truman responded by noting the atrocities of Pearl Harbor and said that “When you have to deal with a beast you have to treat him as a beast.”
