    I see. Thanks for advising.

We are likely looking at $20-25 one way.

Can't compare to China because China railway heavily state controlled.

Unless HSR is not built for profit, otherwise don't think can be cheaper than RM100 1 way from KL to S'pore............. From S'pore to KL may be S$100????

I prefer higher price less trips less people, at least will have some QC and limit numbers.

Low price more people more trips benefit some businesses but not so much value added.

Best place to place the HSR station is outside the front door of casino, let them come in with thick pocket and see them return the next morning. One way in reducing human traffic.

    PM Lee said

Jurong is set to be transformed. (SET = CONFIRMED)

The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) terminus will be sited at Jurong East. Announced this today after the Singapore-Malaysia Retreat with PM Najib Razak.

The HSR will draw Singapore and Malaysia closer, and the terminus will stimulate developments all around it. Jurong East will become a second Central Business District. (CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT)

We also discussed improving the CIQ on both sides of the Causeway, and developing the Johor River to ensure a reliable supply of water. (Click here for details: http://bit.ly/1QhGDvD)

It was a good Retreat. Our bilateral ties are warm and we are working well together. Long may this continue. – LHL

Don't be too happy. High property prices means high property taxes.

Yah sorry because they also mentioned city centre as a possible site I thought it is hard to link from 2nd link. My bad.

I am just glad that what has been predicted all along is correct.

Those who vested in JG not knowing at that time if HSR is going to be built there, had taken a pretty big risk. If HSR goes to Tuas or Central, then JGD will be just another Yishun or Woodlands Regional Center.

The JGD will be the second CBD as PM Lee has now again officially announced and the HSR rightly serves the purpose of linking KL to the second CBD.

PM Lee commented that Jurong is set to be TRANSFORMED, which mean what we have seen so far is just the beginning.

"Jurong East will become a second Central Business District"

Never in the history of Singapore has urban planner mention anything about having a 2nd CBD in Singapore.

Now the HSR site is confirmed, I expect MCLand to put out a big advertisement for their Lakeville project this saturday.

Those who bought Lake Life EC will huat even before they even collect their keys.

Will this also intensify the bidding contest for Westvale coming June?

For sure devlopers are desperate for site with good growth story to sell. And this is the first time in 50 years that they got one that involve building a new central business district + HSR.

Congratulation to all investors and home owners of the West.

    BOOM TOWN CHARLIE

With this, consultants are expecting a huge multiplier effect on the economy of the Jurong Gateway area - greater commercial and retail activity, for starters.

"This could be the most important and final piece of the puzzle to seal Jurong Gateway's status as a regional commercial hub, the same way that Tampines has the airport and Woodlands the Causeway link," said Desmond Sim, head of Singapore and South-east Asia at CBRE Research.

JLL national research director Ong Teck Hui added that increased commercial activity will go on to boost land and property values above the suburban levels that Jurong East is currently at.

"Developers and home buyers who have invested in Jurong East in the last few years will be rejoicing; it will be 'Boomtown Charlie' for them," he said, using a local slang that means "striking it rich".

Donald Han, managing director of Chesterton Singapore, believes there will also be higher residential rental demand and more economy hotels springing up to tailor to Malaysians coming to work in this new business district.

More companies with dealings in Kuala Lumpur might also set up office here. According to Ms Li, Jurong Gateway will become the most ideal suburban location for company headquarters for firms in the business services, education and science and technology sectors that have or will have businesses in Malaysia.

Yep all he said before was actually factual, just many jealous and sour grapes people here kept name calling and slamming him.

Hope he keeps on posting about the future of the now very bright JLD so that we can make informed property decisions and please keep out the pollution discussions, everyone knows that, so it either investors and property owners want to buy or not, no need to keep on bringing it up.

What I still do not get is one of his previous final messages that he had bought a CCR property.

That was really baffling to me as his passion in the West was clearly unparalleled. Even vested people did not have as much zest as he did.

Don't put all eggs in one basket. I have properties in both East and West.

Notice that LHL says Jurong East will connect to a few MRT lines, maybe more plans for Jurong East MRT hub.

With all due respect, I feel that LKY is a more formidable political leader and LHL is a better businessman. Both are great in their own rights. We are blessed.
