    Default NOVENA SUITES

SINGAPORE - A 46-year-old man was found motionless at the foot of a block in Novena Suites on Moulmein Road around 6.55pm on Saturday (Oct 22).

In a residential unit of the same block, a 44-year-old woman, believed to be his wife who had been separated from him for two years, was found motionless in a bedroom on the 13th floor.

The woman was identified as Ms Ng Soo San, and the man, Mr Wang Chan Foo. It is believed that Ms Ng's body was discovered a few hours after Mr Wang was found at the foot of the residential block. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said Mr Wang had been standing on a balcony's parapet when it responded to the incident. Several calls for assistance had been made before 7pm.

He fell when SCDF was deploying an inflatable life pack. Officers subsequently entered the unit at the request of the police and found Ms Ng lying in the house.

The Straits Times understands that she had sustained a few stab wounds in her torso and that there was blood found at the scene.

Police said it is investigating the case as unnatural death. No one was arrested.

It is understood that the couple had two children, aged seven and 13, who were in the area. The Samaritans of Singapore group was contacted.

Mr Wang is believed to be a resident of the Novena apartment, although their matrimonial home was said to have been in Toa Payoh.

Police are investigating two unnatural deaths - apparently of a husband and wife - at a condominium in Novena.

While the man fell to his death, the woman was found dead in the bedroom.

The body of the 46-year-old man was found on a ledge above the ground floor of a block in Novena Suites in Moulmein Road. Police were alerted to the incident at around 6.55pm on Saturday.

In a 13th-floor unit at the same block, the body of a 44-year-old woman, believed to be his wife who had been separated from him for two years, was found in a bedroom.

The woman was identified as Ms Ng Soo San, and the man, Mr Wang Chan Foo. It is believed her body was discovered a few hours after Mr Wang was found on the ledge. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said Mr Wang had been standing on a balcony parapet when it responded to the incident. Several calls for assistance were made before 7pm. He fell and landed on a ledge while SCDF was deploying an inflatable life pack.

Officers then entered the unit at the police's request and found Ms Ng inside. The Straits Times understands that she had been stabbed and there was blood at the scene.

Police are investigating the case as unnatural deaths. No one was arrested that night.

It is understood the couple had two children, aged seven and 13, who were having tuition in the area.

Mr Wang is believed to be a resident of the Novena unit, although the couple's matrimonial home was said to have been in Toa Payoh.

Neighbours had tried to dissuade Mr Wang from doing anything rash, according to Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News. It added that the stock investor's neighbours had seen him on the balcony and called out to him, to no avail.

While SCDF officers immediately went about setting up the life pack, according to an unnamed resident, they had some difficulties as the area on the ground floor was narrow.

Mr Wang was said to have called his son and daughter after the death of Ms Ng, a part-time accountant.

Their children had been waiting in the condominium's premises when they were discovered by officers who went to investigate.
