    Default rental income

I understand that for rental income, we have to report to IRAS but how about the rent that we paid to others, can we claim back? For example, we rent out our house, then due to certain reason, we go and rent from others, can this rental expenses be offset from rental income.

expense for tax purpose is property specific for the individuals.
Rental for own stay is not tax deductible against other rental income.
