Default Why would people even buy condo in ulu places?

I seriously don't understand why people even bother spending so much to buy a condo in ulu places.

Say you spent $1.5m on a condo in Hougang or Pasir Ris, Bukit Batok etc.

    Nobody is going to know.
Your friends or colleague will just be asking "oh where do you stay?"

    You would likely say "Hougang".
You won't be saying "a condo in Hougang", right?

It's unlike say you buy a condo in Newton area. If you say you stay in Newton or Novena or Bukit Timah. People are generally more likely to assume you either stay in condo or landed.

Once a fish having lost its way in the ocean ended up in a well.

Inside the well the fish found a frog and they started talking.

The fish asked, “Have you ever seen an ocean? Do you know how big it is?”

The frog said, “No. How big is it?”

“It’s very, very big”, the fish replied.

The frog stretches its arms wide and asks, “This big?”

    “No, bigger than this.”

The frog stretches its arms wider and asks, “This big?”

“No no, a lot bigger than this”

“Then it must be from there,” frog said while pointing to one wall of the well, “to there”, pointing to the opposite wall. “After all, this is how big the world is.”

The fish said, “No, the ocean is a lot bigger than this.”

“You’re lying. How can anything be bigger than this. This is the whole world after all.”

When you drive on the road and the road is patrol by plane, you know how small is Singapore.

When you are on the field training the size of Singapore, you know how SMALL is Singapore.

When you drive one of these, you know how SMALL is Singapore.

Only when you are in Singapore, you know Singapore very BIG, got Newton, Orchard, Novena.....
