Once upon a time, there was a condominium in Bukit Timah called Mayfair Gardens. But it grew old, and there came a time when the owners decided to sell it so that a brand new condominium could arise in its place, and it could look pretty again. And of course, so that the owners could reap a handsome profit. So after a number of suitors had pursued it, it was sold to the suitor that came offering the most expensive price, one Oxley Holdings.

In due course of time, Oxley Holdings, having surveyed the site, and finding that there was actually a tiny road running right through it, conceived the brilliant notion of splitting it into 2 different condominiums instead of one. And so that the old name would not be forgotten, and besides it had a certain cachet to it (shades of Mayfair Gardens in London and the most expensive real estate on a Monopoly set), they called the first one Mayfair Gardens again, and the second Mayfair Modern. And both together became the Mayfair Collection.

And now that Mayfair Gardens has already launched for sale, our focus here is on what Mayfair Modern will be like. Mayfair Modern will have a more contemporary look and feel to it, but it will still be just as attractive. It will house 171 units, a nice number, neither too big nor too small. This size is small enough to build a sense of community among its residents, especially since it is a low-rise 5 storey development, which tends to generate a cosier and more intimate scale.

Mayfair Modern will only launch for sale after Mayfair Gardens has cleared a substantial number of its units, so the Mayfair Modern showflat won't be ready for some time yet. But if you are interested, just drop us a note, and we will keep you posted when more information becomes available.
