jtpy, did they change the main door lock and pass you the new set of keys as part of the hand over process?

In parallel, they also ask for the bank (if you are taking loan) or you for the TOP payment. Once the developer's lawyer receives and clears the 3 sums of $$, they will take in your appt for collection of keys. You have to make the appt yourself by calling either of the 2 ladies in stack of letter.. Hope this explains..

Err, didn't jtpy say he still getting those defects rectified? Shouldn't the new keys come into effect only upon proper hand-over of the unit i.e. after everything is in acceptable order?

Yes, they do.. But the stupid thing is you have to give it back to them to go in to do defects.. I'm going to change another lock after they complete the defects..

Default Proposed Jln Bunga Rampai Estate Upgrading

Great news for new residents of Jln Bunga Rampai !!!

Our estate will be upgraded with the following (Attached as well) :

    1) Our own identity - Jln Bunga Rampai Estate with our own logo. Malay means- Potpourri of flowers and frangrances.

    2) Recreational facilities - Children playground, hardcourt soccer, elderly exercise station, community garden, etc

    3) Covered drains and new walkways

    4) Rain shelters

    5) Ramps for accessibility

Dr Fatimah, MP for Marine Parade GRC hosted the briefing yesterday. The project will take about 2 years. The first year will be the sewage and drains first. The residents also raised the issue of shortcut to Bartley MRT and foreign workers. The shortcut will be studied by LTA and hopefully soonest. The foreign workers are gradually relocated and moving away as the construction in the area ceases. The viaduct will be ready by mid 2010 with speed limit up to 70 km/h so we can get to the east very fast.

    Overall, great news for us.

The only thing that pissed us off was the LTA spokesperson's arrogant attitude and resistant to listening to our ideas on the shortcut to Bartley MRT. Covered walkways to MRT is too expensive and thus we only get rain shelters. She (Sharon) even quoted that 50 m additional walk is good training for our children! Ridiculous.

Imagine an elderly walking in the rain with traffic at 70km/h just beside. Anyone with power to influence LTA, pls do so before an accident happens.

The upgrading is indeed good news. Hopefully the shortcut/ sheltered walkway to Bartley MRT comes true as it would definitely be a plus point.
Btw I was at OG on Sat and the winds were so strong that it blew the deck chairs into the swimming pool. Had to go tell the security guards to go do something about it but he did not attend to it immediately.
This is something which will happen quite often (deck chairs falling into the pool) and I think we need to do something about it.

Feeling quite annoyed now. Caught the workers smoking and sleeping in the bedrooms. Plus using the plugs in house for charging of HP. Cam overlook the charging of HP part but really cannot tolerate them smoking in house. Now the bedroom reeks of cigarette smell.

Small thing, when you do your renovations, workers will paint and clean all the walls Your room will be brand new again. Next time don't go looking. What you don't see, you don't know.

Banger, thanks for the information although it would be nice if we could get to the Bartley MRT via the Gerhka compound but we know that's not going to happen. I like the idea of a little community area.

hi banger, you attended some meeting with MP?? Thanks for sharing the info

Just previewed our unit - since it's preview, suppose it's normal to see not so clean & lots of unfinished stuff? Quite disappointed with the workmanship, especially the capentry

Just to encourage all who have seen the white doors of the cabinets. When I first saw them I was pretty disappointed. However after touching up and peeling off the protective layers (after your reno), they actually look pretty ok and matches quite well with my furnishings. So do get the developer to touch up the scratches, chips etc and it will be fine. You may want to do a door catch on the shoe cabinet door nearest the dry kitchen. (Mine will open up when the wind gets too strong and it will slam open)

Yalor, I also wonder. Coz there are a few pretty nice water feature spots; one at the main foyer near the bridge, the other is the one with the big vase near the pool. It will be good to keep some koi at the first one, which they just need to clean up a little. The latter is more suitable for smaller fishes?

Can't wait to swing my racket at the tennis court ... swing swing

Wat a small world... the day we collect our keys... met our new neighbor... and we end up viewing each other unit... that was fun... And both our small kids are of the same age... planning for the same school... its fate we met.. at none other place... our new home... Oasis Garden...

See if we will meet each at OG.. Even so, we may not know that we are from this forum, hee hee hee .. Does not really matter, just a simple smile to each other will make our day a little brighter & sweeter..

Hi jtpy, may I ask how's the progress for the rectification? Would you be aiming to move in for Xmas/New Year?

No need to take photos. Once you have written and submitted the list of defects, you would need to arrange a time with the defects IC , Monzu to do a joint inspection and you can show him exactly what is wrong.
