Default You pay for security and safety in Singapore

in SG ... it is more likely to be hit by Ferrari than the following:

    H7N9 spreads further

Chinese health officials have acknowledged so-called "family clusters", where members of a single family have become infected, but have declined to call it human-to-human transmission.

Got meh, heard someone was murdered recently.

The mata also themselves say "Low crime does not mean no crime".

There is no safe or secure place in the world, only danger or less danger, not secure and less not secure.

At least in Singapore you are very unlikely to get shot at in your car at a traffic function or when you are out having a meal with your family.

    hhhmmm interesting point ...

if there are only 2 students in a class .. and 1 scores Perfect 100 pct ..
this teacher is crowned Best teacher... cos 50 pct of his students gets 100 pct ..

the student on the other hand .. is considered only Top 50 pct student ...in class ...

similarly by Land size ..singapore is much easier to manage than Russia , China, USA ...etc ...

so the title of Best Govt ... should be re-looked ....

India got alot of unreported rape cases. The girls feel too shame to report the case.
Singapore girls not so shy and some are rather bold. They report any cases.

Because we have incredibly advantageous tax laws for them and because the SGD is almost a free lunch. The security is a bonus but not the main attraction.

have to agree. Most work here and send money back home. My indian engineer stays in a house many times bigger then our pathetic 1615 Sqft with 3 story and a roof terrace. Yet would never convert himself to become a citizen in SG.

That's patriotic for u.. in fact , some of the face book posting are about the country and how they see it been improved if they were to do things differently. Singaporean on the other hand are nothing but complainant without a solution or even if they have, they will always say that the govt are paid to do the job...

Many victims did not eat or touch birds and chickens.

sure they don't, if the reports are to be trusted.

if it isn't through birds, then it's human-to-human. it's either one or the other, no two minds about this.

It's human to human, but maybe not so contagious, so maybe considered "inmaterial fact".

Of course, if it mutates to be "more contagious" then another issue.

Basket, hundreds of people in China die of flu every day anyway!

Actually IT , Finance, Procurement and HR all outsource there to India.

They now have an attitude problem. They will tell u off and ask you if you not happy, are u able to go do it yourself or outsource to a cheaper place?

I think we have already become the Americans' of yesterday by been complacent and reliant on external source that we ourselves looks like a pathetic nation of complainant that cannot so a single thing.

if it's proven to be human-to-human tranmission, then flu is contagious. watch out for the handle bars in public, lift buttons, the guy who clears his throat or sniffles, etc etc.

the mortality rate is 20% till now. to put things in perspective, common flu has a mortality rate of 0.03% while SARS is about 10%.

this makes H7N9 twice as deadly as SARS
