Does agents usually bait-and-switch techniques for rental?

Like selling condos.
Advertise low and when interested tenant call, agent say sold out and introduced you to higher price units.

they may but for those which show pictures of actual units like above, the probability is lower.

those that do general posting and only using propertyguru's pictures or even no pictures, there are a lot more which i did not post above. those are likely to be hunting for tenants so that they can co-broke or on the bait and switch strategy.

Yes, if you can outlive 999 years or if Singapore is still around 999 years later.

I mean isn't freehold is 999 yrs also but I wonder why my friend told me that: "oh, so it is 999 but not freehold?"

999 years is a long time.

999 years ago, we still have

dynasties and emperors in China http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynasties_in_Chinese_history

Leonard Da Vinci http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci

Issac Newton http://www.newton.ac.uk/newtlife.html

and many more... :D

It is more or less FH in today's context.

He is a quality surveyor (on property). His company bought the pte properties and rent it to people, so I think he must have enough knowledge on this field.

I got this question from another forum, a bit confusing.
