Though MRT is a very convenience transport system, but the time spend in travelling from OCR and RCR is difference. For eg. 2 people travel at the same time to Suntec City, one from Yishun and the other from Kallang, who will reach first?

If COE for Cat A hits $100k for a few months, ERPs go up to minimum $3 per pass, taxi charges go up to $30 for short trips during off peak, this is v possible. OCR prices r linked to our public transport cost n efficiency, n both r getting worse by e day.

and all these happening while wage growth stagnates? Can't see a better recipe for disaster.

Then what is the norm for CCR near MRT now?Anything from $3500 psf to $5000 psf? I was talking about the OCR prices in future after all the mrt line is completed, not now! :o

I think eventually, Singapore will be like Tokyo or Hong Kong - you can hardly find any place not connected by train stations. Buying a property near the MRT station may not necessarily have competitive advantage.

At the end of the day, the proximity of that particular MRT station to city centre/shopping belts will determine the popularity of the district and the value of nearby properties.

In the meantime, the construction sites of MRT stations will continue to be a big inconvenience to residents for at least a few years. Owners of properties in those areas will find it difficult to sell or rent out their flats.

who goes suntec? for PC show?

How about Orchard road? One from Yishun and another from Kallang.

The difference is probably not much.

I don't think it is just the location. Which line is very impt. Especially some of the new lines interchange like dohby gaunt has to walk very far.

The older NS/EW lines are the most useful lines. Good interchange, and very useful stations like Orchard, sommerset, cityhall, raffles place.
