Flamingo Valley may be situated on highland but it is within a valley and is as good as living underground.

seem that from Feng Shui guide, it may be good to be on High Ground, but not on Highest ground:

http://www.freewebs.com/fengshui101/3.html

"If you have built your house on the highest part of a site, then it does not have good Feng Shui for the following reasons:

It does not have protection from natural calamities such as typhoons and thunder storms.
It has no 'backing' which means that in all your undertaking, brinkmanship is the game you will play.
The place cannot hold or accumulate chi as the wind readily disperses it. "

tats y teddybear once said tat sky11 FS no gd.....? No too sure if SKY@11 is becos of the highest ground feng shui reason, but see this link on a Feng Shui thread on SKY@11:

http://www.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=30616&s=4

" Some ponder over buying a unit at Sky @ Eleven for the sole reason that the road leading to the condo is an old folks home.

Literally, I know of an overseas businessman who bought a unit there and then decided to live in another luxury condo development. As his reason is because of the old folks home. "

The Summit is also on high ground but due to the hilly nature of the land, most of the units are situated within the "valley" which is similar to Flamingo Valley. So you are actually staying underground on high land.

A lot of condos around the north and south of orchard road are on high grounds.

North - Cairnhill, mount sophia
South - oxley, st thomas walk, Leornie hill, paterson hill

That'w why you have flooding in orchard road area in recent years due to the extensive build-up, esp the ion/orchard residences which use to be a huge grass field...

And that could be another reason why properties around here are among the priciest, maybe due to good feng shui.

Another area I can think of is between upper east coast and bedok south area also on high grounds

The old folks home will soon be gone....to facilitate the construction of the NS Expressway. So the guy can move back in.

Try Pavilion 11.. right on top of the hill on Akyab Road, Novena/Balestier area.

Actually alot of condos nowadays have alleviated 2nd floor... free from ponding... Not so sure abt the carparks though....

The iconic Pearl Bank Apartment! :D
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_Bank_Apartments

http://proconservation.blogspot.com/2007/09/of-pearl-bank-apatrtments.html

The 272-unit apartment block comprises three types of split-level units — 48 two-bedrom (130 m2 (1,400 sq ft)), 184 three-bedroom (176.5 m2 (1,900 sq ft)) and 40 four-bedroom (213.7 m2 (2,300 sq ft)) dwellings, with eight units to each floor — and an additional eight penthouses.

Wow! That was the standard for condos 36 years ago! :scared-3:

'The 28th storey is devoted for community use, known as the "Sky Park".' And all these recent sky terrace concept has already been done 36 years ago!
