It is ok as these older developments are spread out over a larger land area.
Initially probably the facilities may seem a little crowded but as time goes by, it will become better. It also depends on how sufficient the facilities are eg how many treadmills are there, the size of the pool etc.

Traffic jam..... i don't think so as these are older developments and the roads are wider. Also tenants usually don't drive so there is sufficient parking space.
AGM...... should not be a problem. A lot of residents very bo chap and don't attend.
The advantage of large developments are that the maintenance fees tend to be lower and you have more facilities.

There will be cafes, shops, hair dressers and sometimes even clinics in the development which is so convenient.
Of course you have to be prepared for outsiders in the condo. But if the security is strict, then it is usually not a problem.

According to this recent advertisment, it says there is a childcare centre within the condo.

Many residents age with the condo, so not much energy to sprint around the tennis court or swim butterfly across the lap pool. I see most of them just staying at home, taking a stroll in or outside the estate.

My brother stay there. Although it 1,000 units, you hardly feel the no of people there. Actually I like the place very much. You can never find another condo which has so much space to manouve , can jog and cycle safely within the estate. The Function room is huge and the pool is huge and deep (> 2m) , so much facilties, so many car parks and yes damn cheap cheap maintenance better than HDB b'cos you can park 3 cars there. Visitors also can park near the tower with surface car park. Truly nice place unlike most condo now a day so small. I heard during the recession time 2001 ..2003 some units were selling for under $400K. A friend of mine actually bgt a resale unit under $400K, believe or not :beats-me-man:

Do you feel crowded at the Sail and also the HDB at Pinnacle at Duxton? These two developments have plot ratio like 4 - 6 times, so if they dont feel crowded then big private developments like Melville, Bayshore sure ok... plot ratio less than 3 not a problem at all man...

Bump up this interesting thread... Anyone knows where to find the latest list of condos with 1000+ units?

The closest thing I can locate so far is SquareFoot, based on Land Sizes:

https://www.squarefoot.com.sg/market-watch/land-area

This should be the Catch-All I suppose. :)

Interesting! Those in Pasir Ris are a lot more spacious than the rest. :)

By the way, anyone here stays/stayed in such large condos? Are the facilities crowded with residents?

Also mandarin gardens and melville park are famous as mombay town. Check individual condo review out there.

Buying for rental probably ok since got their own market. Many sold cheap2 recently.

Ripple bay was quite crowded and only 700 units . interlace also. For own stay or rental also, find condos with more than 300-400 units a.bit daunting . personal opinion nia OK, not saying they no good
