View Full Version : Buying A House With POA
As above, how can i be sure the POA is still valid?
Seller's agent show me a POA court letter that dated almost 10 years ago.
And the POA has banked in the 1% cheque w his name yesterday but ive still not see the option contract.
Now the agent says the POA request 4% not go to state holder but to POA.
What can I do to prevent getting conned?

POA is valid usually for 6mths to 1 year, best to seek legal advice.

POA = power of attorney?
Well, I am the POA for my bro's flat cos he is not in Singapore.
From my understanding, according to the lawyer, he should update the POA once in 3 years.
For your case, better to speak to the owner and ask if the party is still his POA.
Also better to seek a lawyer's advice as to whether the POA is still valid.
usually POA deadling wiht properties will be filed with the High Court too (and it's revocation, if any, will also be filed). maybe can check with High Court?
