Have you people heard about the Mandai area last was meant for something which did not happen and the something actually went to HK?

What is the likely future plan, anyone knows?

Yes. Singapore Disneyland. It was supposed to be between Yio Chu Kang and Khatib MRT station. Heard Disney wants to buy the land but SG government don't allowed. Not deal then back in 80s.

cannot be ... wouldn't that be touching the most traditional area of wealth? and the massive jam it would cause to the residential areas ... besides ... wouldn't the previous targeted sites such as Tanjong Rhu be more likely for the 3rd IR? there's more than enough land to build any special projects

I thought the speculation was JLD will have a casino and theme park..

Bukit Timah Hill is at Upper Bukit Timah and not exactly a traditional area of wealth. But still highly unlikely any theme park or casino in that area because the area is under conservation as our precious central nature reserves. Bukit Timah Hill has more flora and fauna than the entire North America - it is a treasure trove and our only primary rainforest left.

Disney did not want to pay for the land.Our govt stuck to the principle that land is not FOC

i find disneyland HK crap. nothing like the one in LA. for these parks, you need endless amounts of space and a cool weather.
