Hi people, I was wondering whether there are anyone here who has tried or sold his/her private property successfully on his/her own without engaging an agent? I am considering doing so for the obvious reason of avoiding commission payment to agent .. would appreciate if anyone can advise or give feedback on this perspective

Should be not a problem, nowadays agent cannot represent both buyer and seller.

thanks Arcachon. i read up a bit online and still need to do more homework. it seems very plausible..just that need to spend effort and also liase with solicitor for the legal paperwork. recently my neighbour sold hers via co-broke and i am surprised to learn that she paid 2% commission ..which works out to be quite a sum ... which makes me even more determined to explore self selling

I join a Real Estate Agency back in the 90's to learn the fine detail and sold my HDB.

Valuation of my HDB was SGD 195,000 and I sold it for SGD 285,000 in 1995.

Once an agent, always an agent :biggrin-new:

My friend ask me why I am interested in property investment and not an agent myself, my reply is I have 28,612 and more agent working in Singapore and I only pay them when I need their service.
