I am wondering if it is alright for a building manager to tell you off for using the remote to get into your condo instead of your access card?

He shouted at me and asked me if I was Filipina (I am a chinese Singaporean-but what does that matter?)

Basically he shouted at me and insisted I was abusing the gate.

He is wrong. No need to shout. Can tell you properly. People nowsday very rude.

I am wondering if the building manager has any right to tell me that i can't use the remote if i am not in a motorised vehicle.

If a car shouldn't behave as a human, a human shouldn't behave as a car too.

If the gantry or gate hurts or scraps the one misusing the remote, or a car knocks into you while doing that, I bet some would sue the management for not disallowing the misuse.

So better to use devices as intended. Else climb gate also ok as long as is resident.

I presume the remote is to open the GATE for vehicle, while the access card opens the side gate..

He is wrong to shout at you...

Lets put ourselves in his position.

you are not a car, why enter using the remote?

First thought would be... you are not a resident, who found a remote to enter the condo.

My security guard would stop you as well. But probably wont shout at you.

In my condo, we have 2 guard posts, due to the sheer size of the estate.

There are many non residents from other condos, pretending to be residents, walking in, by passing the 'car barrier' to cut thru our estate to access any road.

Our guards would definitely stop you if you attempt to 'walk in' by the 'car path'.



Seriously, why do you not use the access card instead ?

My access card is always with me in my wallet.
My remote is in my car.

If i am walking in, it is natural to use the access card.

Why open the BIG Door?

If you have a French door, ..do you open both sleeves to enter? or just 1 sleeve ?

He's only wrong in shouting at you. You must quickly transform back into a car then it's peace again.

What's with using the remote in the first place instead of your access card? Testing? Just for fun? Or because you just can or the thing cause so much hence may as well use it?

No offense but please use the access card if you are not driving in/out. It's actually safer for you in the long run. Dun want ppl to mistake you for a car and start a race. Oops... sorry. Have a good week.
