It is no longer a must have feature in new condos.

Does that mean that for condos built during the period when it was a compulsory item, the heavy door can be removed and disposed of?

And change into one that is lighter and more functional ?

Nowadays the bomb shelter is built into the common staircase. Which allow Developers more leeway to configure internal layout.

Opps

i havent seen them in newer condos .... landed houses ....

just curious ... there are a lot of older condos/hdb/landed that do not have CD shelter... more than those with shelter ... so how necessary are they ?

If it is still a MUST have ... then what is SCDF doing about those without?

It is a building requirement since 1997. If you have one in your apartment , live with it.
