That the privatization is in Limbo cause HDB has been trying to calculate the development charges for the last 18 months

I think this is likely to be taken off the table.
Eunosville residents have to fork out $30,000 to privatize their estate.
Laguna residents have to fork out some $190,000 to do likewise.
I think HDB will drag this issue out. Good luck to those owners who have already committed to another flat.

The problem is very complicated. Those who desperately want to sell enbloc are those who bought at 1996/97 peak. Take example, HUDB Bedok Reservoir owner each got only 600-660k for 1700sqft unit. Gillman Height owner each got 850-950k for 1700sqft unit. I think HDB may be trying to protect the interest of those who have bought cheap.

HI,

What do you mean by want to protect the interest of those who bought cheap ?

Isn't like the higher the owner can sell the better for everyone ? How does HDB play a part in this ?

Cheers

I think I get what you mean. Not everyone is for enbloc.

Thus those who bought cheap may not want to pay to privatize the place. They just want a home to stay in.

Thanks
