Published in Zaobao today. This is nothing to do with condo but thinking of taxpayer money goes to subsidy undeserving ppl like this and many are forced to buy expensive condos ...:doh:

为了让赵先生有时间购屋，建屋局将他的租约延长半年，但他在这段“宽限期”内须缴付的月租是过去的五倍。 不愿透露全名的赵先生向本报申诉，过去几个月的经历“痛苦又无奈”。.....
It is about this Mr Zhao who rented a 4-room HDB at heavily subsidized price (80+% subsidized ?) for 18 years as his reported family income is below 1500 for the 18 years. And then his son came back to Singapore to work, the reported family income shot up to 14,000+ per month. So HDB charged him 5 times (about $1200 per month) for another 6 months rental extension before he bought a resale flat. And he still has the cheek to complain that 过去几个月的经历“痛苦又无奈" (painful and helpless for last few months when charged $1,200 per month).
