The street talk about moving Geylang has been around for a while, but no concrete action yet. However, notice that the Geylang shophouses are not conserved and the building gradient there is rather steep, ie Geylang East HDB has 20 storey high buidings.

    I notice Lorong 25 to 41 changed a lot last 10 years.

Many traditional businesses like massage, pubs, nightclubs etc are replaced by normal business like lighting, furniture, interior design etc.

I think government really have some plans for Geylang.

Looks like Red Light District is getting bigger and bigger.

I heard Tanjong Pagar, Redhill, Farrer Park areas also have.
I forgot to tell you that the price you paid for a unit does not guarantee you a right to park a car there. the agent said that the parking arrangement has not been made yet. another agent said you might have to park outside at a public carpark and walk home from there.

that is how silly it is, not to mention hookers galore in that area.

Wow, the SOHO Life agent is pretty honest.

Hard to find honest agents these days.

it is mechanical parking. you know what a shitty deal it is, right. even with that dubious arrangement, there are few spaces than there are units in the project.

since your purchase price does not include parking, another 100k is probably needed if you do get a parking space there.

not sure what the final arrangement is going to be.

Good if Gahmen can transform that area but since the flesh trade in S'pore is legal.. oopps.. "regulated" it will continue elsewhere, especially got two casino now, vice can only go up. Some other area would need to be designated in place of Geylang if that is the plan...

Actually, Geylang already has a parking problem plus recent traffic accidents has highlighted the tight space over there. Development should need to come soon.

I heard that banks are now much more receptive to approving loans for properties at Geylang. I wonder if similar sites overseas have similar stigma or not?

Geylang, the city of the future.

Geylang, where the denizens never sleep.

Oh... I so do love Geylang
