The two I know of, age 25 and 26 now, both are associates, no business network when they started work at the age of 21. They earned the job on their own merits.

Also know a few from China, only one has network/connection

Absolutely agree. Boils down to who you know, rather than what you can do. If family is well connected, that's the easiest route.

Bargain hunter, I am sure you have been much better off than had you started your career in auditing!

Unbelievable ... 1br left a few high floor units only. Your stack 37 is definitely better buy (all gone)

The main reason I bought is:

    - basement car park
    - further away from PIE, noise blocked by nearby HDB blocks + Damai school
    - rooftop garden ...
    - walkable to MRT from sidegate
    - can rent or own stay
    - low quantum of 1br, if market collapse, at most 10% downside
    - very good size 1br at 580sqft, balcony at 5sqm, a/c ledge 1sqm, good layout
    - marble flooring/toilet with lots of goodies
    - undemanding psf below 1000psf, mind you DBR 1br was 835psf during recession time
    - walkable to Sheng Shiong

You sold your DBR already? Good thing about facing school is that there will not be any blockage, so long as the school is there. But have to live with the morning traffic on your workday & sign-song sessions on your off-day.

Best investment stack to me. pool view or water view plus reservoir... Beware off loading by bulk investor... Even in phases, starting with low floors... also not looking good.

nice view! Bedok reservoir area is getting popular. During the first launch of Waves in 2008, not many is interested in this area. even during Waves starbuy at $600psf, sales was not as hot as Isle now...

Aiyo, this ccr is comparing apple to orange. Other than prices, people wanting to stay near bedok reservoir because they love nature, open space and may work in the east such as near CBP, Chai Chee technopark, Tampines where their children may study in Red Swastika, Maha Bodhi, St Hilda, Poi Ching etc and wanting to be near their parents

Of course Bukit Timah is a more atas area and I personally stayed at Balmoral before, I don't like it a single bit ...
