The former HUDC estate, which is about 26 years old, was put up for a collective sale for S$405 million in 2006.

Recent crazy sales around $800k per unit...
So theoretically, $800k x 560 unit = $448m... not including devt costs, etc

Last time was asking $405m, you think now can get more for this old estate?

Doubt any of those heavy weight developer will buy tis @ tis time. Can't recall any enbloc more than $200m since '09 till now. Would be very surprise if a deal is able to be done. Owners trying their luck, developers wait & see.

I stayed in Tampines for 15 years since it was set up as a new town in 1984. This Tampines Court is still not attractive. It was completed in 1987 as an HUDC estate. I remembered fondly the food at Blk 137 and its rather unusual circular shape for a wet market. Mum and Dad used to bring me there to eat breakfast on weekends. They also frequent the town council which was beside the Tampines Court. My mum told me stories about Tampines Court, mostly hearsay from her friends and one of them stayed at Tampines Court. She told me that this estate was not clean. Being young and stupid, I asked if the town council did a bad job cleaning the place. She said no but it had to do with spirits. I was dumbfounded. I remembered clearly that she narrated tales of a female spirit in that area. But that was just a story. Maybe she was just trying to scare me from venturing into that area after breakfast.
Yee ha! Did I tickle your funny bone?
