If there will be a solution, isn't now an opportunity to buy these condos as their px has been badly affected by train noise..

They say they will do something but seriously, how much can be done? Very limited, isn't it? Sound is not single directional so blocking one direction means no more sound? They say they'll do something about it and at most only reduce the sound to a more bearable decibel but still irritating.

It's a good effort finally since Singapore always claim world class transport system but other countries install noise barriers yet Singapore did nothing.

Must live up to your claim, LTA!

Use egg shell cardboard. Cheap and good. Just need to apply special weather treatment for water proofing.

the money got to come from somewhere, no raiding the reserves.
Better be prepared for higher transport fares.

the rest of population who don't stay near elevated MRT track, are paying for the people who live near the tracks.
and when it is not so noisy anymore, perhaps property price very rise.
Then those people will get free ride to extra profits, courtesy of rest of population.

Don't worry lah... LTA won't raise transportation prices in the name of doing up this noise thing. People unaffected will surely make lots of noise then got a different type of noise to handle. Even if there's transportation price hike, it will disguise with some other compelling reasons and not this noise thing.

I saw the television interview of the uncle living at Blk 503 in Bishan...... cannot open windows whole year round....

The design of the semi tunnel at Bishan MRT station is 45 degrees and the sound bounces of the walls of the MRT station into Blk 503.....

This is much worse than other areas next to MRT tracks or stations.

In the last 25 years, how many units have changed hands how many times? Its indeed too little too late! Then again, as the saying goes, better late than never!
