    Default open kitchen

    Another mundane thread ....
    Saw some 2+1 , and even some ph, open kitchen concept.
    Frankly, how u do cooking without fouling up the whole house
    Dun tell me everyday eat salad..
    Studio,1 bedder open kitchen ok, but 2 bedder and beyond ,
    Should have full kitchen

    get a good cooker hood to extract fumes to the outside. mine is an open kitchen. using such a set up. still will have some fumes but not that bad.

    ID..can install sliding glass doors .. but yeah extra cost..

    If you grill lamb chops or saba fish, the whole place will smell like a foodcourt for a week. No amount of air fresheners will help as the smell permeates into the fabric of the furniture and I suspect even the walls.

    Haha... but I do like the concept of an open kitchen though.

    Grand Duchess at St. Patrick's Rd has a very good open kitchen concept. There's a dry kitchen with a sink outside, which is separated by a sliding glass door from the wet kitchen inside, where there also is a bigger sink + exhaust hood etc. Have a look when you have the time.

    At the rate we are know, i doubt these young couples would even know how to cook...

    False ceilings in living room usually nowadays.
    Costly to put sliding door, going to look ugly too, i tink.

    But no matter how gd the hood, after a while, your sofa, curtain, and whole house will smell ike foodcourt....

    Wet and dry kitchen concept is still the best. Some stacks of wfi 1 bedroomsgot such wet/dry kitchen cum dining, I like.
