Traffic in charlton park will increase a lot once the road open. As this will be a short cut to avoid all the traffic lights for those who want to go to town from defu or lor ah soo area.

I think you are right. It might not be so ideal for the private familiar.
But i think the tenants and residents are prepared for traffic as it is a mixed development to begin with. I doubt it will be heavy traffic though. The lane is likely to be one lane both ways at max. Surrounded by other major and arterial roads that most people are familiar with. If through to city from Defu have to zig zag at many junctions plus the chance of jam in mostly single lanes.
This strategy of inroads to bypass arterial roads has been noted at many places in SG to alleviate the congestion.
Will be interesting to find out how it goes eventually.
The three laws of Kelonguni:
Where there is kelong, there is guni.
No kelong no guni.
More kelong = more guni.
Wonder why they did not Put the location of cross island line stations which will be at defu. If they were to move 500m to come closer to lor ah soo market, then promenade will be really good. The current location of the proposed station is so near to kovan and hougang, served no value to mass lot.
URA has a dozen other considerations to take note of. They are not expected to bend over and backwards just for any group. One consideration is perhaps the land available and suitable for the alignment of the tracks.
Nonetheless, I believe there might still be surprises down the road.
If only I can permanently reside in the northeast... Sigh...

What is going to happen to the park? It's already very small.
Does anyone know whether the anchor tenant of this project is confirm? when I bought the residential unit, the agent told me that anchor tenant with a big supermarket chain had been affirmed. No news yet?
That bad. I suppose "sheng xiong" is planning to buy those units at first. So now all the commercial unit that is suppose to be sheng xiong is all sold to individual buyers. Any commercial owner wana share what the shop will be use for? What the business they are operating Etc?
