Default Home Contents Insurance for tenant

    First time landlord here.
Is it a common practice to purchase home contents insurance for the tenant (as in naming the tenant in the policy instead of yourself)?

My insurance adviser told me that some of the home content insurance may have issues in the claim if the fire is caused by the tenant but named under the landlord.

    Can anyone advise?

nope fire insurance is to protect u in case ur tenant burn down the place and cause excessive exterior damage n the MCST or neighbor come after u.

Ur tenant items are not ur responsibility ( typically stipulated in contract) . However if u want to insure ur internal furnishing thats ur option.
