A few are stuck with their aged landed. But methink small developers like me will be very interested in their landed, especially freehold ones. So it is a matter of time before they succeed in unlocking their cash.

My strategy is like this, you say I smart or not.
I will target the big landed in an estate first. Then slowly one by one, I will buy up the terraces. Of course, I will not be so stupid to expose my identity, most likely I will buy the semi-d, but ask my relatives of different surnames to buy the rest of the terraces.
Then, I will combine all plots and enblocked the rest from my relatives. Finally, I can build a good size project within the estate to disturb the rest of the landed.

dont be too indulged in history. there is a reason why price increase is not so much and not always, it is an opportunity. it could be a changed in prospective and economic environment.
1. more local terms instead of expat term, which is why u would see more ang mo in your hdb neighbourhood
2. we are now very different from place like sydney, kl, jarkata, etc. decentralising effort seen from garmen on those regional centres like JLD, even hotels they are building, with business pk, with entertainments, shoppings and infrastructures around it, who would still want to stay in RV or Tanglin if every happening is out of the central area which is of higher cost?? The place become iconic for visitors as usual....all in all, sg is a small island. whether u pay 2000psf or 1500psf a few KM away, i think you soon know how to calculate...the key is, we are different from those countries i mentioned, we are small in size...
3. with 1 CCR could be = 2 or 3 OCR. think we all know dont put all eggs in one basket.
4. in times to come when there is a crunch in land supply, be it LH60, LH99 or freehold, redevelopment is always an option there to optimise land planning etc. I would think it is easier to enbloc LH land then FH...just like it is more affordable for most to own LH99 than FH. Furthermore, LH99 projects are likely near amenities or mrt which is more in high demand. not all, but in general.
With that, make your own judgment. not here to dispute any views but just offering my two cents worth.
