look at car and look at ppty totally diff mindset. once you look at ppty, no longer interested in car. one go up, one come down. which one better?Originally Posted by roly8

non caveat means pay fully with cash??
For investors with properties rented out, when property prices go up = rentals go up = more disposal income = buy bigger cars. The two do go hand in hand.
My friend bought a 2nd hand car (Honda Fit 1.3L) for $52k+ last month, still have about 6 more yrs to go.Originally Posted by roly8

My friend bought a new Toyota Altis (1.6L) 4 yrs back at about $50k+ only, another one very lucky, she got the COE at $2 only. just imagine how much will it cost at this current market for a normal new car. Before you can drive, you already have to foot out a substantial amount for just a piece of paper.Originally Posted by ecimbew

Hubby wants to buy a car, seeking advice, is it the right time to buy a car now or will it prices rise or decrease in future. Any experts?
The only expert is urself..
If u buy the car for a specific need, then you only need to consider your own affordability at this current price.
Price increase decrease in future, only god knows. It's the same like.. Will you know if you will earn lots of money in the future? So will you eat at $3 chup chai peng or pay $200 meal at restaurant for lunch later?
buy based on current prices and current affordability. no need to second guess where prices will head. owning a car is a luxury anytime, esp if you are in ppty investment game where ppty=wealth preservation while car=wealth depletionOriginally Posted by jacelynchia
