Developers sold 1,455 private homes excluding ECs in May

DEVELOPERS sold 1,455 private homes (excluding executive condos or ECs) in May, up 5.4 per cent from the 1,380 units they sold in April but 14.6 per cent lower than the 1,704 units they moved in May last year.

These figures were released by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on Monday.

URA's figures also showed that last month, developers found buyers for 457 ECs, which are a public-private housing hybrid, higher than the 172 units they sold in April this year and the 358 units they moved in May last year.

URA's data, which is compiled from monthly submissions from developers, also showed that 1,521 private homes excluding ECs were launched in May, compared with 1,162 units the previous month and 2,449 in May last year.

Developers also released 418 EC units in May. They did not release any EC units in April. In May last year, they had released 665 EC units.
