Default FAKE POLICE IN JB CHASE DOWN A SINGAPOREAN

    Submitted by a TRS reader:

A Singapore Netizen urges others to take care following an adrenalin packed encounter with Fake Police in JB.

The Singaporean was driving alone in his car at around 2:30am after dinner with some friends in JB. When his car was approached by 'Polis' on scooters at a T-junction near the beach at Stulang Laut.

There were 4 men wearing Polis vests on 2 scooters. The scooters reportedly had no Police markings and the white helmets they all wore also had no Polis markings.

The scooters pulled up by the car and knocked on the window telling the Singaporean driver to stop. Alert that something was wrong, the driver left his engine on and waited for the 'Polis' to dismount from their scooters.

The Driver asked what the problem was but the men on the scooters simply replied that they needed to question. When the driver asked for polis badges and ID the men pretended they did not understand.

It became clear that the men were not Police when one man demanded RM1 000 or he'd smash the car. At this the Driver acted quickly, hitting the man with a baseball bat and driving off.

The scooters followed the car in a pursuit that lasted 7 to 10 mins. Fortunately the driver was familiar with the roads and took the chase to a road full of potholes to try and avoid the men on bikes. He succeeded in losing the men after one scooter went down over a pothole.

The driver then immediately made his way to MSIA customs and into Singapore and published his story online urging others to be careful of similar instances.

Beware of Fake Police when going to JB. He already makes it regular practice to have a baseball bat handy incase of emergency.

His alertness and decision to keep his engine on when stopped probably saved his car from being damaged that night.

Unfortunately, no police report was made as the driver could not remember the bikes' plates nor the faces of any of the men as they were all wearing helmets.

We shouldn't have this kind of victimizing mentality.

Ya, but that's besides the point..
If the place is safe, anybody can go out at any time they wished.
U can go out @3am in taipei or hk n you won't get anyone chasing u in motorbikes ..
Bottom line is: JB is unsafe!

everybody knows JB is unsafe, especially at 230am. So you need to ask why the hell you want to put yourself at risk(hence asking for it)? That guy is prepared for it with a baseball bat in car.

    different mentality la,
one time expense, or monthly expense via giro, dont see money going out, no heartache.
filling every 2-3 days see the money out of pocket then heartache.
