TAIPEI - Two Hong Kong women were arrested in Tainan last Sunday for theft, vandalism, and using false identities after they left several rental accommodations in great disarray.
According to a Shanghaiist report, Zeng, 20, and Chiou, 19, rented an apartment in Taipei in January. They wrecked the furniture, left behind a revolting mess and even stole a television set before fleeing.
TVBS reported that the young women disguised themselves to find new lodging by using false identities and extreme makeovers in an attempt to escape authorities who were alerted to their crimes.
In a FTV News report, it was said that the two were finally arrested by police in a budget hotel room in Tainan on March 16. The hotel operator had called the police after noticing that details of their identities given seemed suspicious.
During their stay in the rented rooms, piles of rotting food items were found on various surfaces, toilet paper and cigarette butts clogged the toilet bowl, and used sanitary pads littered the bathroom floor.
The sofa was also dirtied and appeared to be falling apart. The women also defaced the walls with markers, with one message proclaiming 'Taiwan is China'.
When questioned, the women allegedly said that they planned on ending their lives after they finished spending the rest of their money.
