SINGAPORE - A night out at Shanghai Dolly in Clarke Quay turned ugly for Stomp contributor Vivi after she was attacked by another club patron.

The male patron had apparently tried to chat her up and when the Stomp contributor ignored him, he threw alcohol in her face before smashing a glass on her.

Vivi related to Stomp over the phone:

"It happened after midnight on Friday, June 13, at around 2am.

"A guy approached me and when I ignored him, he poured alcohol in my face and smashed a glass on my face.

"When my friend shouted at the guy, his friend slapped her."

The Stomp contributor says that as her face was bleeding, she was escorted out of the club by a bouncer along with her friend.

She was subsequently taken to the hospital where a police officer took her statement.

Vivi added that she has to go for plastic surgery as a result of her injuries.

A spokesperson from the police said:

"Police received a call for assistance on 14 June at about 2.27am, requesting for assistance at a nightspot along River Valley Road.

"Upon police arrival, it was established that a dispute occurred at said location.

"A woman, aged 37, was conveyed conscious to SGH.

"Police investigations are ongoing."
