Default Buy OCR to stay CCR?

The recent discussion on Lakefront Residences rental has got me curious about the possibility of buying OCR but stay in CCR.
ie. to use the rental income of OCR property to rent a CCR apartment.

    This is what I discovered.

Here is a list of top rental transaction from Lakefront Residences in 2014, if the owners can generate $5000 to $8400 rental income per month, what sort of apartment can they rent in CCR??

When I use do a propertyguru search with the following search criteria,

    Location : D9, D10, D11
    Price : $5000 to $8000
    Bedroom : min. 3
Floor Size : min. 1200 sqft
    Furnishing : Partial or Fully
The result yield around 2673 results, with the largest unit of around 5000sqft, and plenty of choices.

    * Disclaimer : I am only using rental of Lakefront Residences in JLD for comparison, cant comment if the same applies to other OCR estate.

For development like Lakefront, I believe its because of international schools and also there are now more amenities surrounding that area. When comes to kiasu or lazy parents, I think expats are no different from locals. For example, if you have primary school kids studying far from home, the kid (parents too) will wake up as early as 5.30am in the morning to catch a bus at 6.15am, while those walking distant from schools can perhaps sleep an hour longer and still make it to school before 7.30am.
