I am still rather surprised many are not aware of the big pollution problem in Punggol, SengKang and all the way to Pasir Ris. Residents living in these places are complaining like hell bout the problem but our govt is trying like hell to sell flats in punggol and sengkang. to anyone interested to buy these areas, i suggest you do a few things before you make your decision:
1) Climb up to the top floor of a flat that gives you unblocked view of the malaysian coastline where the factories and chimneys are located so you get better idea of the source of pollution in the area. Bear in mind that it is 24/7 that the flares are burning.
2) drive up to punggol jetty at night and take a good smell of the pollutant so that you can identify the smell as coming from the source (that is if you can even get out of your car with that smell)
3) Spend 1 week travelling to the 3 places morning, afternoon and night and sniff the air thoroughly everywhere u go and you will find that the smell is everywhere.
**Note that even if the smell is not visible to your nose, the pollutant can still be in your body .
